  • Determining Directions Using the Sun:
    If you stand facing the rising Sun in the morning:
  • You are facing East (E).
  • Your back is facing West (W).

  • Grid Coordinate Convention:
    When locating items on a coordinate grid, move horizontally (East) along the column axis ($x$) first, and then move vertically (North) along the row axis ($y$):
