What We Teach & Why

01. Our Thinking

Skill-Based Learning

From Class 3 to Class 8, we teach children things they will actually use in life — not just for passing exams.

We focus on what your child can do, not what they have read. For each class, we clearly say what the child will be able to do by the end. For example: speak in English, calculate a percentage, or write a letter. You can check this yourself.

Everything we teach has a real use. We only teach things that are useful in daily life, in jobs, or for further studies. We do not waste time on topics that are only needed for one exam and then forgotten.
●
At the end of each year, students do a real project. Instead of just a written exam, students complete a task that shows what they have learned. For example: making a home budget, writing a report, or giving a short talk. This is real proof of their learning.

02. What Your Child Will Learn

Terminal Learning Objectives

By the time a student finishes Class 8, they will have strong practical skills mapped to their school subjects. These are things they will be able to do on their own, without any help.

💬 English & Communication

›They can speak English fluently in an international accent — to a person, a group, a stranger, or in an interview.
›They can write a proper email, a formal letter, or a short essay on their own — clearly and without major errors.
›They can give a 5-minute talk or presentation in front of people without reading from paper.

📐 Mathematics (Applied)

›They can calculate percentages, discounts, GST, and interest quickly in their head.
›They can build spreadsheet pricing models and profit-loss statements from scratch.
›They can solve real-life algebra equations related to their textbook chapters.

🔬 Science (Classes 6–8 Experiments)

›They can formulate hypotheses and test them using simple, low-cost experiments inside standard classrooms.
›They can conduct hands-on chemical tests (acids/bases, litmus checks) and physics tests (forces, pendulums).
›They can set up simple electrical circuits and explain the physical principles at work.

🌍 Social Skills

›They can apply the "5 Whys" method to identify the true root cause of any problem.
›They can manage their own time — planning tasks backwards from a deadline.
›They can map and solve local community issues through structured logic.

🌳 EVS (Classes 3–5)

›They can identify local plant varieties, animal habitats, and understand ecosystem interdependencies.
›They practice the 5 Rs of waste management (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle) and segregate wet vs dry waste.
›They can track natural changes/seasons, conserve water/energy, and follow essential fire/first-aid safety guidelines.

💻 IT & AI

›They can type fast enough (40+ WPM) to write documents or send emails efficiently.
›They can use AI tools like a smart assistant — getting useful output for support, research, and workflows.
›They can protect themselves online, identifying phishing scams and safety protocols.

🌴 Malayalam

›They can express complex stories and arguments fluently in their mother tongue.
›They can translate and summarize English topics or news articles into written Malayalam.
›They can draft formal petitions and applications in Malayalam for local authorities.

🦚 Hindi

›They demonstrate conversational fluency in everyday Hindi speaking environments.
›They can translate and summarize basic instructions or descriptive texts between English and Hindi.

Before Joining

Entry skills needed for Jaka SOS Program

Before a child joins this program in Class 3, they should already know a few basic things. These are not difficult — most Class 2 students will already have them. We are not looking for a bright child — just a child who is ready to learn.

English

›Can read simple letters and 2–3 letter words in English
›Can write the basic English alphabets (capital and small) clearly
›Can understand simple everyday commands in English (like sit, stand, come)

Maths

›Can count and write numbers up to 100 on their own
›Can do simple single-digit addition and subtraction (e.g. 5 + 3, 9 - 4)
›Can identify basic shapes like a circle, square, and triangle

IT & AI

›Has seen or touched a computer, laptop, or smartphone before
›Is familiar with looking at interactive screens

General

›Can sit and pay attention to a story or activity for 15 minutes
›Wants to learn, play, and cooperate with other kids
›Is comfortable talking to a teacher or classmate to ask for something
